Repeater Part

Another type of part that can be used when you simply want to repeat musical strcuture is the repeater part. A repeater part simply repeats a set number of previous bars on the timeline. For example in the below example the repeat part in bar 3 is set to repeat bars 1 & 2 again.

To set this up you would add a 'repeater' part on timeline after the two parts already on the timeline.

The repeater part should then appear

By default the repeater part will not do anything. By double clicking on the repeater part a popup menu will appear. You can use the sliders to configure what will be repeated, note this will only repeat content on the same track.

Scratchpad

The scratchpad in IGME allows you to compose parts wihtout needing to place them on the timeline. The scratchpad can also be used to cache parts already on the timline and remove them until they are needed later. It is perfect for trying out ideas.

To view the scratchpad you will need to select it from the tab view on the right hand side of the arrange view.

The same mechanisim is used to copy a part from the timeline to the scratchpad.
